This word list is subjective, but the words came from different most frequent English words lists and good-to-know English words lists. If the English use the word "dog" a lot, then it will probably be an important word in German, Italian etc. Most of these were automatically translated into different languages, so there could be some weaker translations. Let me know if you find some mistakes in the translations.

The words are randomized in every play and the direction in which you have to translate between the two languages is also randomized. I hope it helps in memorizing a lot of words. If you get pretty good in one of the quizzes you will probably have enough understanding to start enjoying some movies with subtitles in that language and you should go that way with your learning path.

The pronunciation is using the Web Speech API. Different browsers have different support levels for this. For example, English and German sounded pretty good in the Chrome and Edge browsers but sounded strange in Firefox. Finnish for me only sounded Finnish in the Edge browser. Chrome pronunced the words as English.
